First Snow

This snow scene was created with a solid blue batik for the sky. White fabrics were cut and layered for the snow on the ground. Light pink and purple fabrics were used for shadows from the trees. The pine, birch and hardwood tree fabrics were fused. Trees were then fussy cut and placed referring to the photo. Fused white fabrics were added to the pine trees for snow on the branches. The scene was then free-motion quilted with various threads to add texture. Metallic silver thread was added to the ground snow fabric to give sparkle and shine.
